Hi guys! I hope you all had a wonderful long weekend. Kids and I kicked off the-unofficial summer on Memorial Day. It was a fun and relaxing time spent on the lake followed by shopping and dining at the outdoor mall.

Of course Memorial Day isn’t just an excuse for a long weekend but it’s also a time to remember the men and women who have sacrificed so much for our country and for us to have the freedom to pursue happiness and live in a safe and secure place. Here’s one of my favorite quotes to honor our fallen heroes.

“If we love our country, we should also love our countrymen.”

~Ronald Reagan

In an age of TV, computers, and electronic gadgets or academics and extra-curricular activities children nowadays, are left with little time or even no time to play outdoors. I have always embraced and supported the philosophy of “biophiloa”, the love and compassion we humans have for other living things. I made sure my children Katrina, Isabella and John, explode the nature at a young age and have taught them the compassion towards animals, living things including plants and flowers. I strongly believe connections on a one-to-one basis with Mother Nature is an essential part of childhood and growing up to connect on a one-to-one basis with Mother Nature and animals.

Katrina, Isabella, John and I started our fun-filled day at The Lakes which is in our neighborhood. We love visiting our little friends there, the ducks, pigeons, and the fishes. They picked up leaves and flowers, observed insects, threw rocks, and etc.

Additionally, the weather couldn’t have been more perfect.  In the 90’s with low humidity and an awesome breeze!  We took a few photos and shared them with daddy, MrMagz, because he had to work and couldn’t be with us, my parents and of course my social sites. And if you follow me then you probably have already seen some of them …LOL.

The fun didn’t end there, though. We then headed out to our favorite place to hang out, the outdoor mall in Downtown Summerlin, Las Vegas.

What I like the most about this open-air shopping environment is that it’s safe with security patrolling surrounding area in both truck and on foot. There are about 125 shops and restaurants including some of my favorite department stores.

We actually visited the newly-opened H&M store. Kids wanted to check out the new store and buy a few outfits for their summer school.

Kids also love the water fountain located by the food court at the Downtown Summerlin.

They took of their shoes and got their feet wet while I was snapping away priceless moment of Katrina, John and Isabella. It was to my surprise, when I noticed my husband, Mr Magz, walking in the background towards us. He was actually working that day and decided to surprise us and have a nice family dinner at one of rhe restaurants.

So, we headed out to California Pizza Kitchen restaurant for some food and laughter. Overall, we had a great time and really, there’s nothing like time with the family. 👨🏻👩🏼👸🏻👸🏼👦🏼❤️

I hope my fellow American readers also had a nice three-day weekend!
