The 10 Things I’ve learned About Myself This Year.

 | i Heart Marina

First of all, thank you all for the birthday wishes with the phone calls, text messages and all my social media posts. Thank you for making me feel special. Here’s a list that I came up with what I’ve learned about myself this year.

#10. Isn’t it weird that the older I get the more I love cooking? I mean up until I got married I never ever cooked before. People would tell me “What kind of an Armenian girl are you if you don’t know how to make Armenian coffee?” LOL I’ll admit, my coffee sucked and it probably still does 😂.

#9. I used to like high school / teenage love movies but the older I get I’ve realized the more I’m into drama and romance.

#8. I gave up on soda –Dr Pepper specifically and have started eating more healthier this year. Although, Dr Pepper is my favorite soda, I still just cheat once in a while. I guess it’s OK …LOL 😂

#7. I have always loved animals. I grew up with all sort of pets around the house. That being said, I am all in favor of animal rights as well as human rights. In the past I have had bunnies, chickens, pigs, geese, snakes, cats, dogs, hamsters, birds, parrots, and a monkey 🐒. Yes, I even had a monkey when I was about 8 years old. We had her for a year. After she destroyed all the curtains in the house and broke all the vases and the wall art, my dad returned her back to its original owner. This year, I have realized that I am more of a cat person rather than a dog. Although, currently I have two cats, Alexandrik and Chocolateh and a dog ( and Gucha, African Gray parrot). Believe it or not, the cats are low maintenance compared to dogs. Don’t get me wrong, I love my baby Chloe but she is definitely a handful.

#6. Giving back to the community has always been very important to me. This is something that my parents have instilled in me ever since I can remember. During my trip to Armenia I had a budget set aside for my shopping spree and gifts instead, I choose to skip my shopping spree and use that money to give back to the community. I gave it to the less fortunate children, women and the elderly in the Armenian villages. I’m sure they need it more than I do. This also is a great example for my children. I hope they learn from me that it’s important in life to always give back to the community as much as you can or whatever your budget is.

#5. Becoming a Real Estate Broker -I have always been obsessed with homes and it’s architecture. Getting a real estate license has always been on my to-do list. However, this year I’ve become determined and persistent on getting my license. I went back to school, have passed the first exam and now, I have to take the second exam –Wish me luck ✌🏻. I’ve learned that in life excuses don’t matter. What matters the most is how bad you want something.

#4. I value my culture -very proud to be an Armenian -Ukrainian-American. Grateful for my roots! So glad that I had a chance to visit Armenia this year with my children where they were able to see where their mother and father are from, discovering the beautiful Armenia and learning it’s country’s rich history, meeting their cousins, and experiencing the Armenian lifestyle. Next up —Ukraine!

#3. My husband always has been and always will be my best friend, but you guys probably already knew that. I have realized, the more I live with him and spend time the more I fall in love with him. My love for my Mr. Magz grows daily if not every second. I can’t imagine my life without him. Mr Magz makes me so happy!

#2.I love my children and my family! They are so very important to me and always will be a priority.

#1: I love GOD! I believe in miracles because I’ve seen a few. I’m forever grateful to God for for my life and my family! ❤️🙏🏻

Thanks again you guys for all the birthday 🎂wishes! Love you all lots and lots!
